Why Choose a Premium Lens?

In cataract surgery your cloudy natural lens is replaced with a clear artificial lens (IOL). A standard monofocal lens gives clear distance vision, but most people still need reading glasses afterwards. Premium lenses are designed to correct more than one distance, so many patients do most daily tasks without glasses.

MOST POPULAR

Multifocal Lens

Clear vision for distance and near. Ideal if you want to read, use a phone and drive with minimal glasses.

EDOF Lens

Extended depth of focus — a smooth range of clear vision from far to computer distance, with fewer halos at night.

Toric Lens

Corrects astigmatism (cylindrical power) along with the cataract, for sharper, crisper vision.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I be completely free of glasses after a premium lens?

Multifocal and EDOF lenses are designed to reduce dependence on both distance and near glasses, and many patients do most daily tasks without spectacles. Some people may still prefer glasses for very fine print or long reading sessions. Your surgeon will explain what to expect for your eyes.

What is the difference between a multifocal and an EDOF lens?

A multifocal lens gives clear distance and near vision. An EDOF (extended depth of focus) lens gives a continuous range from distance to intermediate (computer) with good near vision for most tasks and typically fewer night-time halos.

Is cataract surgery painful? How long does it take?

Stitchless phaco surgery is done under numbing drops or local anaesthesia and is usually completed in 20–30 minutes. Most patients notice clearer vision within a few days.

How much does premium lens cataract surgery cost?

The cost depends on the lens type (monofocal, multifocal, EDOF or toric) and your eye measurements. Call 99146-00666 or book a consultation for a transparent, itemised estimate.

I have astigmatism. Can it be corrected during cataract surgery?

Yes. A toric lens corrects astigmatism together with the cataract, and toric versions of premium lenses are available.

I live in J&K / Himachal. How many visits do I need?

Usually a check-up and lens counselling visit, the surgery day, and follow-ups. Call us and we will try to schedule these to minimise your travel.
